Meets at Radio City, Kilbirnie, Wednesdays 7pm - 9pm

Largs Traditional Music Group meets on Saturday mornings, 10.00 to 12.00, in the Masonic Hall, New Street, Largs. Primarily attended by accordion and fiddle players; other traditional instruments would be welcome. Contact Bob Randall, 01475 686436 or Bill Young 01475 672190. 

Beith Accordion and Fiddle Club meets on the third Monday of each month at the Beith Bowling Club, Boghead, Beith, at 7.30pm. Each meeting features local players, plus a guest artiste or band. Bar, refreshments. Contact Elma MacFadyen 01294 823865.

Renfrew Box & Fiddle Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Masonic Hall, Broadloan, Renfrew, at 7.30pm. Each meeting features local players, plus a guest artiste or band. Bar, refreshments. Contact Ian Murchison, 0141 889 4711.

Brown Bull Session, 33 High Street, Lochwinnoch, Tel: 01505843250

The session is held every second Sunday night from 9 to 11 and is a mix of songs and tunes, there being more singer/ guitar players than tune players. The instruments played are fiddle, mandolin, flute, whistle, banjo, border pipes, melodeon and concertina. The session is mostly traditional with only the occasional foray into country or contemporary. You will hear everything from the Corries to Paul Simon and on the tune side you’ll hear anything from The Dashing White Sergeant to The Maid Behind the Bar.

Houston Folk Club meets every Thursday evening at the Carrick Centre, Main Street, Houston from 8pm to 11pm. The Club is a No Smoking venue and, as the premises are not licensed, members and guests are invited to BYOB. Contact Bob Beattie Tel. 01505 323290.

The Irvine Folk Club meets in the Vineburgh Community Centre, Quarry Road, Irvine. Every 2nd Wednesday at 8pm. The club has been providing top quality music for over 40 years and every fortnight quality guest artists are guaranteed.

Clyde Coast Fiddlers meet at Skelmorlie & Wemyss Bay Parish Church Hall for group practice on Saturday mornings from 10.00 to 12.30. Wellington Bar Session, 17 Wellington Square, Ayr, 01292 262794 The session is held every Sunday night from 9 to 12 and is an open stage for all-comers although there are generally many more singer/guitar players than tune players. The songs are mostly contemporary or country with only the occasional folk song. The majority of the tune players are young and form the basis of the up and coming group Kin. You will hear fiddles, flutes, bodhrans, pipes, banjo, mandolin and concertina. The tunes range from lightning fast reels to O’Carolan airs.

The North Ayrshire Fiddle Workshop meets in Auchenharvie Academy, Stevenston, on Thursday evenings. Juniors start at 6.45 pm. NAFW provides instruction in traditional fiddle playing, and has classes for juniors and seniors.

Garnock Valley FM is a community radio station run by volunteers for the benefit of the communities in Beith, Kilbirnie, Dalry and surrounding areas. The Garnock Valley Traditional Music Group occasionally have programmes on GVFM with the title "Valley Folk".
